Is your pool water green and cloudy? Maybe you’ve been doing your own pool cleaning, and all of a sudden, you’re having trouble keeping the water clear. Or maybe you’ve been working with a pool cleaning service in Murrieta, Temecula, or Menifee, but they’ve let things slide and now your pool is a mess.
If your pool water is green, you have algae. It doesn’t take much for algae to take over a pool—especially when the weather (and therefore your pool water) starts to warm up. But algae can start to bloom due to a variety of factors.
The most common situation that leads to algae taking over a pool is a chemical imbalance. With pool water, it is important that the proper pH levels be maintained. Specifically, if the pH levels in your water are too high, the chlorine that is added can no longer do its job of sanitizing the water effectively, and algae can start to grow. This is why it’s vital that your pool water’s pH levels be tested regularly and adjusted when needed.
Another factor that can lead to algae is poor circulation. If your pool pump isn’t operating efficiently, or if your water levels get too low for the pump to circulate the water, it can cause the water to stay stagnant in areas and allow algae to take hold.
Insufficient filtration is yet another variable in algae growth. When a pool’s filters are clogged or the filtration system isn’t working properly, algae spores (and other contaminants that can lead to algae) are not removed from the water and are left to grow and flourish.
Finally, when the pool’s surfaces aren’t cleaned regularly or well, algae spores can settle on the walls or the bottom of the pool, where they can start to grow. Typically, a pool that has been overtaken by algae has more than one of the factors listed above.
Getting rid of algae in pools is a service we offer at Aqua System. We call it our “Green-to-Clean” treatment, where we take a pool that’s overrun with algae and turn it back into the sparkling clean pool you want in your backyard! Depending on the type of algae your pool has and the severity of the situation, this service may require multiple chemical treatments. The service may also require a filter cleaning and/or equipment repairs.
When you call us out for a Green-to-Clean pool cleaning service, we will come to your Murrieta, Temecula, or Menifee home and assess the situation to determine the cause of the problem. Once we do this, we can put together a plan to treat the problem and give you a cost estimate.
The team at Aqua System would love to help you get your pool back to a place where it’s sparkling clean again and ready to be enjoyed by you and your family! Contact us to learn more about our Green-to-Clean service or about any of our other pool cleaning services for Murrieta, Temecula, or Menifee pools.
